In 1956 was founded the the Pulp and Paper Research and Development Institute in Bucharest, and in 1974 the entire activity was relocated to Braila, were still is today.
In 1989 new investments were made in research and production and it was purchased the current paper machine for security papers. It was the last economic objective personally inaugurated by Nicolae Ceausescu.
Ceprohart produced in that period mostly offset paper and board, greaseproof papers and filter paper used in the pharmaceutical and beverage industry.
Since 1990 the Institute become Ceprohart, a stock company with registered capital majority owned by the Romanian state.
In the years that followed, new modernization investments were made and went over to the security paper and board production.
Research departments of Ceprohart continuosly worked to develop and transfer the security paper technologies in the manufacturing process, but also to create new and innovative paper products.
The first security papers were produced in 1997. Further on, all the security techniques currently available on the market were gradually assimilated.
Between 2012-2013, after 4 years of laboratory research and industrial pilot tests, Ceprohart introduced in his portfolio the paper with magnetic microwire randomly embedded in the paper structure, unique product in the world with self-protection role for valuable documents against theft, copying and unauthorized destruction with specialized devices.
In 2013 Ceprohart announced its intention to diversify the business by focusing on providing global security solutions.
In 2014, „SelfProtectTM” and „You’re SafeTM” were registered as trademarks and along with them the organization logo „Creative for your safety”.
In 2015 Ceprohart became a private owned company.
Over time, Ceprohart has participated in a series of national and international specialized fairs in the security paper and printing field (Intergraf, Pack Expo, Cartes, SDW).
Since 1991, every two years, Ceprohart organizes the International Symposium “Advanced Technologies for the Pulp, Paper, Coougated Board and Environmental Industry”, which aims to bring toghether our beneficiaries and partners in the security elements and techniques field for documents, products and trademarks, for an useful experience exchange fol all parties.
